A delegation of 12 students from Virtus School recently participated in their first Model United Nations (MUN) conference of the year, held from October 15th to 18th at Carlos III University. The event, SYMUN, allowed students to step into the roles of UN diplomats and debate critical global issues such as the impact of new-generation weapons in warfare, strategies to cut off revenue sources for criminal organizations, and the societal effects of medical innovations.
At Virtus College, students are actively encouraged to develop essential soft skills such as public speaking, teamwork, and leadership through dedicated weekly classes. This preparation equips them to excel in events like SYMUN, where their ability to engage in structured debate and problem-solving shines. The delegation returned enthusiastic and energized, having been highly engaged throughout the sessions.
The success at SYMUN highlights the dedication and potential of Virtus School’s students. With their sights set on continued growth, the team is eager to keep practicing and honing their skills in preparation for future debates. On to the next challenge!
