Value-added education.

We believe that progress matters just as much as achievement. From the beginning of Year 12, each student is placed on a “flight path”: a benchmark based on prior attainment that sets out the minimum expected A-Level outcomes. This approach enables us to tailor our teaching, support and challenge to help every student go beyond their predicted potential.

Our Grade Variance system measures the difference between these initial expectations and actual exam results, offering a precise picture of individual growth. Using data from CAT4 scores, internal assessments and mock exams, our Assessment Team works alongside ALPS, an organisation that benchmarks performance across British schools globally.

In 2024, our value-added data placed Virtus College in the ALPS top 1% of British schools worldwide, a testament to the power of our personalised educational model. Students routinely exceed expectations, not only outperforming their original projections, but also reflecting the depth of care and ambition embedded in our approach.

Grade Variance is more than a number, it captures the transformational journey our students undertake and affirms our commitment to unlocking potential in every learner.
