Mentoring system.

One-to-one mentoring providing expert academic, personal and university guidance.

One-to-one mentoring for academic and personal growth.

Every student at Virtus College is paired with a dedicated Sixth Form mentor, selected based on their academic goals, personality, and individual needs. Inspired by the tutorial systems at Oxford and Cambridge, this approach offers weekly personalised sessions that foster intellectual growth, motivation, and wellbeing. Mentors serve as both academic coaches and trusted guides, helping students stay on track and thrive throughout their A-Level studies.

Tailored support across studies, wellbeing and careers.

Mentoring sessions are structured yet responsive, offering targeted support across academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and university preparation. Students receive coaching on study techniques, organisation, and exam preparation. Mentors also work closely with the Careers Team, supporting students with competitive university applications, personal statements and interview readiness.

Stretch and Challenge.

Through mentoring, students are guided to extend their learning beyond the A-Level syllabus. Each year, they complete a non-curricular book and an online course aligned with their interests. Mentors also encourage participation in high-level academic competitions such as Olympiads, MUN, and the John Locke Essay Competition, helping students stand out in university applications.
